About us

Dana & Martin

Two people, one high-roof van named Now or Never, and the Pan-American Highway as a job description. We left a fixed address for a route that still has thousands of kilometers of honesty left in it.

Photos, places, the day’s color

Dana

Dana notices the light before the road does. She keeps the camera, the packing list, and the “should we stay another night?” vote. The blog’s bigger frames are usually hers — murals, markets, the van glowing at the edge of a beach.

Nav, van systems, the daily notes

Martin

Martin drives the long miles, tracks the confusing bits of paperwork, and writes the journal when the kettle’s still warm. If something on the van rattles, he hears it first. If a border stamp needs a second look, that’s him too.

The trip

How we got here

Open a chapter. One at a time — the same way we actually lived it.

It started as a list of countries we were afraid we’d never see, a napkin sketch of Alaska, and evenings spent insulating a cargo van after work. We didn’t wait for a perfect plan — we waited until the van could sleep two people and the passports were still valid.

Why

Because the map was getting theoretical

We’d talked about this drive long enough that it was turning into furniture. Building the van made it real. Leaving made it ours. The point isn’t to collect countries — it’s to stay long enough in each one that the journal has something true to say.

How we publish

Journal for the days. Blog for the frames.

The journal is chronological and a little messy on purpose. The blog is the edited photo story from a place. Instagram is whatever we can upload when the sky (or Starlink) cooperates. Nothing here is a live GPS pin — if you want “where we are,” read the latest day.
